Meet Our Office Staff

Donna Joseph

Donna was a stay-at-home mom until she joined Zaffarese Physical Therapy in January of 2007 as Steve's first employee. When she joined Zaffarese her objective was to always make or patients feel welcome when they walked into the clinic. "I've watched Zaffarese Physical Therapy grow from Steve treating a few patients a week to our current awesome staff of dedicated, caring people that makes us stand out from therest." She was PTA president of two schools, Girl Scout leader and very active with anything that involved her children. She likes to challenge herself by teaching herself new things from upholstering furniture to installing bathrooms. She has 5 children, a beagle, Madison, and has been married to her husband, Alan, for 34 years. Her daughter Stephanie, was one of Zaffarese's first Aides and she is currently an Occupational Therapist at JFK Hospital in Edison. Her son, Alan, worked as an Aide for four years and is currently in Graduate school at New York University for Physical Therapy. In her spare time Donna enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Jessica Russo

Jessica is a graduate from the Gentle Healing School of Massage. She is currently our front desk supervisor and loves the daily interaction with patients. One of her future career goals is to go back to school for her Associates Degree in Business Administration and one day open her own massage practice. Outside of work some of her interests include working out, reading and jet skiing. In her spare time Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, Anthony, their daughter, Harper, and their two dogs, Diesel and Duke.

Lisa Engstrom

Lisa was born and raised in Staten Island New York and moved to New Jersey when she was 18. She joined the Zaffarese team in 2013 and is one of the smiling faces you will see when you enter our clinic. She currently resides in Sayreville and in her spare time she enjoys to cook, listen to music, watch movies and spend time with her boyfriend.

Katie Cruser

Katie has been with Zaffarese Physical Therapy since 2015.  This is her first job in the healthcare field, and she was naturally nervous to start a new career path.  Katie says that luckily she was welcomed with open arms and has loved working here ever since.  Her favorite part of the job is greeting every patient as they walk through the door.  Seeing the patients' progression as they go through therapy is incredible to her.   Outside of work you will find Katie with her husband, Glenn, and their daughter, Madison.

Zaffarese Physical Therapy was established by Steve Zaffarese, a Physical Therapist and East Windsor Resident.  Steve had had previous experience with establishing and managing physical therapy clinics for large corporate health care providers, and had become disillusioned with the trend towards higher patient volume and the expense of quality treatment.  Steve had a vision to do something different.  His goal was to create a more personal clinic that would provide the highest level of physical therapy care to the residents of his community.  To meet this goal, Steve has employed a team of highly skilled and experienced physical therapists and has limited patient volume in order to insure that every patient has ample one on one time with his or her therapist.  As members of the Zaffarese Physical Therapy team, we consider it an honor to continue to provide the people of this community with outstanding physical therapy care.
